WHAT IS IT?
COVAGUARD™ Mask spray is a patent-pending antimicrobial sanitizer spray that is intended to be applied to a medical face mask to sanitize and prepare the surface by killing pathogens that can come in contact with the mask surface for up to 4 days. COVAGUARD™ Mask spray was specifically formulated with active ingredients that are known to be effective at killing bacteria and other germs that can come into contact with the surface of the mask. COVAGUARD Mask spray treats the surface of the mask with a known and effective antimicrobial agent Benzalkonium Chloride(BAC), which is incorporated in a proprietary delivery system comprised of lipids that are designed to enhance and prolong the effectiveness of BAC.
What Does it Do?
Covaguard™ Mask Spray is designed to sanitize to help protect users by sanitizing the mask upon contact with the spray that will continue to kill pathogens throughout the day. Covaguard™ mask spray forms an invisible antimicrobial barrier that is designed to enhance the activity of BAC and preserve its’ ability to deactivate and kill pathogens for up to 4 days. Covaguard™ mask is designed not to interfere or modify the waterproof properties or filtering abilities of a surgical or N95 mask, if used as directed. The Covaguard™ mask spray is creates an invisible coating on the surface of the mask and is not intended to penetrate through the filtering layers of the mask.
HOW EFFECTIVE IS COVAGUARD™ MASK SPRAY?
Covaguard Mask Spray was specifically formulated with active ingredients known to be effective at kill a broad scope of pathogens. The main active antimicrobial Benzalkonium or BAC has been studied for over 30 years and has clearly demonstrated the ability to kill enveloped Corona viruses like the Covid-19 virus, including SARS–COV-1,and MERS-COV, as well as similar influenza viruses including influenza, H1N1, and H5N1. BAC has also been shown to have potent antimicrobial and antifungal activity against such pathogens as Acinetobacter baumannii, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans amongst many others¹.
